Cricket freaks - “out”

It was on 7th of May... A young morning at the office. As usual myself and Mr.~Suz reached our desk to begin the day’s work. Although the eyes and thoughts are confined into the monitor, reading the “Monday morning” mail trails, ears were constantly sensing the voices around the desk.

One such voice was a sweet voice from a neighboring female discussing about the cricket match between CSK & MI happened the previous day (Mr.~Suz :- does it disturbed you b.cos it is from a female ?? :P ). The comment sounded like “giving bowling to Jadeja was a wrong decision as he is not much experienced”… Since the chances for such comments are very frequent in the cricket season, I wasn’t much worried about the comment. Rather the way the female sounded this comment urged me to write this blog.

Though I am not a great fan of cricket, I do watch occasionally feeling it a way of expressing the patriotism. During such times I have seen comments of this category are very easily spilled out from the mouths of a common people. The two things that keeps lingering my mind is have every people would have thought of…

  • How hard the person would have worked to stand in the ground before such huge crowd holding such huge expectations?
  • How much justification the commenter could make to the role if they are given a chance to play cricket in the same situation?
The unfortunate situation is, the crowd themselves burden the player with such huge expectations and gets really upset when they see their expectations getting un-fulfilled.

If you are a cricket fan, Please answer the second question listed above before you comment on anybody's play & I would be happy that a player of international standard is my blog fan!! :-)

Enna oru villathannam…Hmm…
